Farhan Farouk is a Chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA). He brings deep and longstanding experience from his tenure with a Big Four firm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he most recently served as the KSA Tax Leader. He has 35+ years of Zakat and Tax experience in the KSA and deals with international tax and compliance matters. He specializes in tax matters relating to contract structuring, transfer pricing, Zakat and withholding taxes.
Farhan has led several large tax advisory engagements across various sectors and industries, involving major BOOT, BOT and EPC contracts and similar projects, including the application of ever changing Zakat and Tax regulations. He jointly led the tax advisory to the world’s largest oil company on two landmark transactions in 2021, forming part of one of the world’s largest energy infrastructure deals. He assisted multinationals and large corporations in drafting advance rulings on contentious issues with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), including meetings with ZATCA’s senior officials to discuss complex matters. He also assisted clients with post-acquisition and post-merger restructuring and provided tax optimization opportunities. Farhan served clients operating across a broad cross-section of industries, including Energy, Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Construction and Trading.
Farhan has also led presentations at tax conferences on Saudi Arabian Zakat and tax matters.
